BusLane Privacy Policy
Summary. BusLane is a macOS utility for monitoring and alerting about the connection speed of USB devices. Your privacy is important: BusLane is designed to operate entirely on your device, with minimal data collection and no advertising or user tracking.
What information does BusLane collect?
- Crash reports & diagnostics: BusLane uses Sentry to automatically collect application crash logs and limited technical diagnostics.
- Connected device data: When a crash or diagnostic event is reported, BusLane may include anonymised information about connected USB devices, such as device name, vendor ID, product ID, serial number, and connection speed. If a low-speed issue is flagged or a camera is disconnected, the type of device connected (for example, storage, audio, or input device) is also transmitted in an entirely anonymous and unidentifiable way, encrypted, to Sentry for troubleshooting and product improvement. This data is used solely for troubleshooting and product improvement and is never disclosed to third parties.
- No personal content: BusLane never collects, accesses, or transmits your personal files, photographs, or user-created content.
How is information used?
Crash reports and diagnostic information are sent securely to Sentry and are used exclusively to improve BusLane’s stability and performance, fix bugs, and respond to user support requests.

Data security
All diagnostic data is transmitted securely using modern encryption (HTTPS). Access to diagnostic reports is restricted to the developer.

BusLane is not intended for use by children under 16. No information is knowingly collected from children.
